![]() Tuesday, April 11, 2006 - Last night the Nassau West Attorney General's Office joined in the legal battle that Nassau West President Kelly K. Bartram currently finds himself in.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Department has attempted on three occasions to serve Bartram with court summons to appear at the Bisbee Justice Court, in Bisbee, AZ, the county seat for Cochise County, and the court that handles all legal matters for the City of Tombstone.
The President first became aware of this pending litigation last Thursday evening when Ambassador Amanda Bartram, the President's sister, called him to advise him that the Cochise County Sheriff's Department had attempted to serve him. At the time, he was unaware of the charges.
In the time since, the Nassau West Presidential Security Service, in cooperation with the Nassau West Attorney General's Office, has determined that the President is being charged with seven counts of "DISORD CONDUCT-LANG/GESTURE," which are criminal offenses, rather than civil offenses.
Frequently, jail time and/or heavy fines are options with criminal offenses. The Attorney General's Office was surprised that there was no complaint issued by police at the time of the incident, and even more surprised that these charges are listed as criminal, rather than civil.
According to the information collected during the Nassau West investigation, the charges stem from events allegedly occurring on Saturday, February 11, 2006, in Tombstone, AZ. Sources report that the seven counts against the President are from seven different people including Tricia, Keith, Janice, Betty, two Kathleens, and an eleven-year-old boy, whose name has been withheld due to being a minor.
